On Saturday 25 May we were once again treated to an amazing concert arranged by Myles and showcasing Asuka, who played the piano for us, Lilian Sedilles, – well known to our regulars at St. James’ concerts for her wonderful singing and Myles himself, not only giving a masterly performance on the piano, but also expertly accompanying Lillian. Unfortunately, the timing for the start of the concert, seemed to have had several variations, and along with the International Cricket at the Aegeus Bowl, and other things going on in the area (not least it being a Bank Holiday weekend) about 40 people enjoyed a very pleasant evening with refreshments in the interval. However, it was well received by those who were lucky enough to find the (right) time and all had an enjoyable evening! We look forward to the next one. Thank you Myles.
We will be running Prayer Spaces in School at Saint James’ Primary school again this year and need some volunteers to come and help run it with the school. This year it will be in the week commencing 3rd June and sessions take place on Tuesday to Thursday afternoons between 1pm and 3.15pm (9.30am to 11.45am as well on Thursday). Each session is fairly intense in the sense that all 400+ pupils and teachers will need to pass through the different spaces over the three days, but it is so worthwhile as we help bring to everyone a sense of awe and wonder and share our faith. Please speak to or email Linda if you are able to help or would like to find out more.
